Eric Garcia is poised to play for Girona against his parent club Barcelona in the upcoming La Liga clash on Saturday (May 4).
Ahead of the game, Xavi was asked about what he has planned for the Spanish defender once his loan spell is over.
He answered: “He had a place at Barça. He didn’t want him to leave, it was a matter of fair play. We want him to come back.”
It appears that the gaffer wants to reintegrate Garcia back into the Barca squad once he returns from loan in the summer window. With the Blaugrana already having a stacked defensive line, how he does that remains to be seen.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has been a regular in Girona’s team this season, having scored three goals in 27 La Liga appearances and helping them keep five clean sheets.
