According to Diario Sport, Real Madrid will only sign Alphonso Davies if two conditions are fulfilled.
First of all, Los Blancos have to offload one of the left-backs, presumably Ferland Mendy, as it makes zero sense to get rid of Fran Garcia who we just signed. On top of that, Mendy's exit would generate us significantly bigger revenue.
The second condition, is for Madrid to agree swap Aurelien Tchouameni for Davies.. Apparently, that's what Bundesliga champions want in exchange for the Canadian defender.
Jus like with Fran, it's unreasonable to part ways with the player we signed just a year ago, especially given his price tag and quality.
To sum it up, Madrid are unlikely to go for Davies this summer.
It makes so much more sense for the Whites to wait until the summer of 2024 and sign him at a lower cost once he enters final year of his contract at Allianz Arena.
