Gary Neville explains why he's confident Erik ten Hag will stay as manager next season

"I thought he [Erik ten Hag] was very assured," explained Gary Neville, quoted by the Daily Mirror, while sharing his thoughts about interviewing the Manchester United manager recently.

"Obviously everyone else around him has gone at senior management level - the CEO, the technical director's been shifted, the CFO's gone, the interim CEO, John Murtough's gone - so there's been a lot of change at the club.

"I felt as though he was assured, he was very calm, but obviously he's been under quite a lot of pressure recently.

"He talked about how big the FA Cup fnal is in a few weeks, that's a season-defining game, but I think it's the most I've heard a Manchester United manager talk - while they're still in the job - about the players that they hadn't got for him that were really important to him."

Ten Hag alluded to missing transfers for Harry Kane as well as Frenkie de Jong, as the Glazers refused to spend much in the last two windows.

Despite the poor results this season, Ten Hag has remained insistent that he's not leaving the club anytime soon.
