Erik ten Hag delivers grim update on return time-frame for Varane and Evans

Man United missed both veteran defenders Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane for the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

After the game, Erik ten Hag gave a grim update on being asked when the two can be expected to return to action. He simply answered: “I don’t think at short notice they will return.”

At this point, it doesn’t seem like either of the two centre-backs will be back against Bournemouth in the next Premier League fixture.

With Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez already ruled out until May, Ten Hag can only hope that the veteran defenders work hard to be fit before he FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.
