Speaking to Piers Morgan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic said: "What is the experience of Erik ten Hag? Young talents [at Ajax]. He comes to Manchester United, it is a different mentality and players. The players there are supposed to be big stars.
"He is in a different situation. Coming from Ajax to Man United is a big difference. I have been in both clubs. It is a different kind of approach. There you have a different kind of discipline. You can't come to Man United and do the same thing.
"I do not say it's the coach's fault, because experience you cannot buy. You just have to get time to get the experience. Man United have to win every game, win every title they play for. Now they are being dominated by the neighbours."
"Is ten Hag out his depth? I think he needs more time to get the experience how to handle a team. But you don't get time at a team like Man United, obviously not, because we need to win. I think the small details often makes the difference."
Ten Hag's second season at Man United has been a complete disaster so far with the Red Devils losing five of their first nine games across all competitions.
The Dutchman's continues to deal with issues inside the dressing room, falling out with Jadon Sancho following his last year's conflict with Cristiano Ronaldo.
