Should Man United appeal Casemiro's red card? Gary Neville gives his verdict

Speaking on his Sky Sports podcast, Gary Neville said: "Casemiro will never get off. It's too big of a risk. Manchester United could risk another game [of suspension] and they could increase it so they won't appeal it.

"I think they'll feel they can get through the three games. It'll be difficult for Erik ten Hag because he's been the most important player for Man United, he's held the ball well in midfield and Christian Eriksen is obviously out as well.

"I thought it [red card] was harsh but I thought Ten Hag summed it up perfectly when he said he 'took a risk'. If you put your hands one someone's throat, even if to kind of protect yourself, but I think once you put two you've got an issue.

"And Casemiro basically taken a risk. He's fantastic at winning the ball back and he's always on the front foot, but he takes chances. [Casemiro is the sort of player that] makes a thousand fouls and never gets booked."

It remains to be seen whether Man United will decide to appeal Casemiro's automatic three-game domestic suspension following the Brazilian's straight red card at the weekend.

The midfielder was dismissed after putting both in hands Will Hughes during the 2–1 win against Crystal Palace, leading to a massive issue for the Red Devils for the new few games.
