After it was reported that Chris Wilder will leave relegation-threatened Sheffield United soon, Dean Henderson tweeted: “Thank you for everything you did for me!! Don’t ever underestimate what you did for Sheffield United!
“Can’t wait the see the statue at the lane! Not only a great manager but a great person. Best of luck for the future.”
Henderson played a number of years under Wilder at Sheffield United, even being handed his Premier League debut by the manager last season. He kept 13 clean sheets for them last term, impressing Man United enough to call him back and make him compete with David de Gea for the No.1 spot.
Wilder will leave Sheffield United after being in charge since 2016, after which he helped them get promoted from League One into the Premier League. The Blades are currently sitting in the 20th position in the league and look destined for relegation at the end of the season.
