"I don't put him above Giggs," Graeme Souness told Talksport when discussing the legacy of Mohamed Salah. "[I put Salah] along with Aguero. Gareth Bale, when he was on it, was just off the charts.
"He's up there, you know, he'd be in the top ten of all the greats that have played in the Premier League."
The Egyptian has scored 156 goals and provided 68 assists in 259 Premier League appearances throughout his career so far.
Salah won the Premier League Player of the Season award in 2018, as well as the Golden Boot in the 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons.
The forward is expected to stay at Liverpool for at least one more year but Souness believes that Salah is likely to part ways with the Reds this summer.
"I think there's a real chance [he leaves this summer]," Souness added. "I think there's every chance that he's done a deal with Liverpool in the summer of last year, with all the interest from Saudi Arabia, that he's given them another year."
