Liverpool target Manu Kone leaves stadium on crutches -- his injury record was already suspect

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone is reported to be among Liverpool's summer targets - although he might not be their priority ahead of players like Khephren Thuram, Romeo Lavia or Ryan Gravenberch.

On Wednesday night, Kone might've been dealt a big blow to his hopes for a big move as he sustained a knee injury in the U21 Euro game against Switzerland.

The 22-year-old left the stadium on crutches.

The injury record is arguably one of the biggest concerns Liverpool fans should have over Kone.

The Frenchman has not had many serious injuries but still spent 160 days of his professional career sidelined prior to Wednesday.

It also shows that Liverpool might be right in waiting until the end of the U21 Euros to make a move for one of their midfield targets. Most of them, including Thuram, Gravenbergh and Lavia, are also involved in the competition.
