Disagreement over Salah: Neville and Carragher clash in Premier League team selection

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher recently revealed their Premier League teams of the season, but they could only agree on six players. Both pundits, known for their strong opinions, named their best player, best signing, biggest surprise, and standout XIs for the year.

While their teams had contrasting looks, they did have identical choices for the midfield. However, there was a disagreement over Carragher's inclusion of Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, as Neville felt that Salah's performance had dropped below his usual level this season.

Starting at the back, Carragher explained his choice of Ruben Dias, the Premier League champion from Manchester City. He praised Dias for his fantastic defensive abilities and intensity. Dias was joined by Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the defence, with Alisson in goal.

Moving forward, Carragher included Martin Odegaard, Rodri, and Kevin De Bruyne in his team. Salah, Harry Kane, and Erling Haaland completed the lineup of superstar players.

Regarding Carragher's choice of Salah despite a mixed year, Neville expressed his own opinion, stating that while he would usually include Salah in his team every season, this season he opted for someone else due to Salah's performance not being up to his usual standards.
