Thiago - 9, Nunez - 9: Rating Liverpool players in AC Milan win

Liverpool beat AC Milan 4-1 during the 90 minutes after which the Reds lost 4-3 on the penalty shooutout. It was a much needed performance for Klopp's men after the Lyon defeat and here's how they fared:

Thiago - 9: Completely ran the show in the midfield, spraying passes for fun. Dominated physically as well, imposing himself all across the field. He had a good effort just minutes before his goal, which he placed perfectly under pressure.

Salah - 8.5: He was busy throughout the game, finding himself not just up and down the left wing but also coming in centrally, which is why he got himself a goal as well.

Bajcetic - 8: Played with the maturity of a seasoned player and has left Liverpool fans hopeful of the levels he may reach in the future. Can be very important for Liverpool in the midfield in the coming years.

Nunez - 9: Just the game Nunez would have wanted. Came on for the last half an hour, got 2 goals and a number of shots. Ran at defenders and created chances for the Reds. Turned a narrow win into a blowout.

Doak - 8: Made his minutes count. He was very energetic and direct, constantly taking on opposition players and bullying them. Made a couple of great runs into the box, one of which he fired off the post and another found Darwin Nunez for his second goal.

Clark - 7.5: Didn't have much to do because of the number of minutes he was given but made it count when he had his chance. A laser-guided through ball found the feet of Nunez with incredible accuracy who went on to finish the chance. Really promising talent.

The Rest: Kelleher - 6, Milner - 6, Matip - 7, Gomez - 6, Robbo - 6, Elliott - 7, Firmino - 6, Ox - 6, Tsimikas - 6, Keita - 7, Frauendorf - 6, Carvalho - 6, Adrian - 6, Phillips - 6, Corness - 6, Quansah - 6
