Grujic joined Liverpool in 2016 and made just 16 appearances for the club.

Liverpool will receive £10.5m for Grujic and £6.5m for Awoniyi. Liverpool will retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause on both players.

Grujic joined Liverpool in 2016. He has made only 16 appearances at the club across all competitions as the club sent him out on loans to Cardiff City, Hertha and Porto.

Awoniyi moved to Liverpool as an 18-year-old prospect in 2015. He has not made a single appearance for the Reds because he could not get a work permit, and spent time on loans in Belgium and Germany.

Quite right Ripley,we will fall behind,we need an abundance of goals or at least keep the board ticking at 1or2 goals per game as long as its clean sheets and the title will be ours at Christmas..

Again we discuss profits for FSG but first team needs strengthening with top quality players! We need to sell deadwood we been saying that for last 2 years!! I don’t want to hear about OX and Keita can do this or that and play in different positions!  Ox is mediocre and certainly not good enough to play in front 3 or a false 9!! Keita just a waste of space can’t string 3 games together! Origi needs to go!  FSG need to buy top quality players for this great club or we will disappear behind manc clubs, Chelsea and even Arsenal!! Splash cash you tight arses!!

let's not use the term deadwood. they are talented only that some players over time, no longer fits the scheme of things.

I don't quite agree with the terms of deadwood used in this article. These players are very good players.. it just not easy to  become the first choice of a team that had won champions league and premier league unless they are the best in their respective positions.. these players will do well in teams fighting for top ten places in the premier league or less competitive league..

individually they are decent players but they aren't going to fit in our team and cmon sending them out on loan and paying their wages when they aren't playing for us is ridiculous

seow,I agree,deadwood is not the right word one should be using when releasing players,I don't like it for one,you are quite right they were pretty good but not given a chance,look at nat Phillips he proved himself.
