LFC youngster Liam Millar completes £1.3m move to FC Basel: The Athletic (reliability: 5 stars)

James Pearce has confirmed that Liam Millar has moved from Liverpool to Swiss side FC Basel.

The 21-year-old has commanded a fee of £1.3m, having come up through the ranks at Liverpool.

The deal makes sense for the Reds as Millar can no longer be considered as very young and managed only 3 goals in 27 games during his last loan spell with Charlton.

Millar joined Liverpool’s academy from Fulham in 2016 and captained the club’s under-23s.

His singular senior appearance was against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup in February 2020.
