- On Saturday, Everton took on League One side Blackpool in a friendly game, with first-team regulars like Pickford, Digne, Holgate, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin and others in the starting XI.
- The minnows, however, were led by none other than Neil Critchley, the man who coached Liverpool's U23 side until March when he was headhunted by Blackpool.
- We can't explain it in any either way than Critchley's effect, but within just over 10 minutes, Blackpool were 3-0 ahead!
- Unfortunately, Everton managed to pull level with Critchley's side, with the game ending in a 3-3 draw.
- The next Merseyside derby is scheduled for October, and Everton will have a chance to end a 22-game winless streak - not that Saturday's game bodes well for them!
