'We want to create transfers internally': Klopp names 8 Reds starlets close to first team

Liverpool will need to rely on their own resources for squad reinforcement due to the coronavirus pandemic affecting all transfer plans but Jurgen Klopp is totally fine with that.

According to the German, there are at least 8 young players at Liverpool who are really close to the first team.

"What we want is to create are our transfers internally," Jurgen told The Athletic.

"So now, the first glimpses of Neco Williams; people may have seen him against Arsenal and said, 'Ah, yes, nice game, he fights a lot' but if Vitor Matos [first-team development coach] was not here, Neco would not be here either.

"So bring the boys up.

"Curtis [Jones], Harvey [Elliott], Ki-Jana [Hoever], Sepp [van den Berg], Yasser [Larouci], Leighton [Clarkson], Jake Cain; all these boys, they have done really well. And a few I don’t know yet but I will know them.

"We cannot spend millions and millions and millions because we want to or we think it is nice to do. We never wanted that."

Some of Liverpool youngsters have been really impressive this season featuring against Everton, Arsenal and Shrewsbury in domestic cups. The likes of Neco Williams, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott are expected to be given more senior game time in the remaining Premier League games of the season.

Against Crystal Palace, Neco Williams was the second-half sub replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 74th minute while Harvey Elliott registered a brief cameo coming on for Andy Robertson five minutes before the full time.
