West Ham are the only club in the Premier League to yet make a signing this summer. And their latest move is perhaps real desperation.
According to The Athletic, the Hammers have advertised their need for a new:
- left-back;
- centre-back;
- defensive midfielder;
- central midfielder;
- attacking midfielder;
- winger;
- striker.
West Ham placed the advert on the website called Transfer Room, a place meant to "empower football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the transfer market."
West Ham have even specified that their budget for each position is up to £20m. This sounds ridiculous for a Premier League club, especially one that has just sold their player for £105m.
It has previously been reported that head coach David Moyes is at odds with new technical director Tim Steidten. As an example of their disagreement, Moyes wanted James Ward-Prowse from Southampton but Steidten and the club refused to overpay.
Don't forget that West Ham play in the Europa League next season so not having a big squad might damage their chances in both Europe and the Premier League.
Money on West Ham to get relegated?
