Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been offered to Barca by his entourage led by super-agent Jorge Mendes — that's according to the seldom reliable El Nacional.
Man United will reportedly agree to the deal if it sees Frenkie De Jong move in the other direction. The Red Devils have been long-standing admirers of the Dutchman and would welcome him to the club if their skipper departs.
However, such a transfer is almost inconceivable for many reasons, although football has given us bigger surprises in the past.
Fernandes, whose contract expires in 2026, hinted at a possible exit from Man United earlier this week when he said, "If you want me to be very honest if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros because nothing will be able to take my focus away from the FA Cup final and the Euros, as there’s nothing more important than that at the moment."
Barca are expected to sign a new midfielder in the summer but a superstar like Fernandes might just be beyond reach. The Portuguese midfielder has recorded 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 games for Man United despite their difficult season.
