'It would be a dream come true': Cubarsi opens up on potentially beating Sergio Ramos' record

Pau Cubarsi could become the youngest-ever defender to play for the Spain national team if he gets to play in the upcoming international break.

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos currently holds the record for the youngest defender to debut for the national side. Ramos debuted for Spain aged 18 years and 361 days.

“It would be a dream come true," said Cubarsi on potentially breaking that record.

"If I achieve this and surpass Sergio Ramos, who is one of my inspirations, I will be very happy.”

Cubarsi still maintains that he does not want to be compared to other players and wants to be himself.

"I want to be myself, play what I know, I don't want to compare myself to anyone."
