Barcelona have lined up Juan Foyth as their plan B if they fail to sign Joao Cancelo on a permanent basis in 2024, as per Sport.
The Portuguese joined Barca on loan from Man City on the transfer deadline day. A buy-out clause is inserted in the defender's deal, but the Catalan club are still unsure if they could afford Cancelo's services after his loan spell ends amid financial struggles.
The Blaugrana would have to pay a fee of around €25m to sign the full-back permanently next year.
As for Foyth, the Catalans have been linked to the Villarreal right-back since last season. Xavi is said to like the player 'very much'.
But the weird thing is, the 25-year-old Argentine would cost twice as much as the Portuguese.
How will Barca be able to afford Foyth if they can't afford Cancelo then?
