Barcelona agree Xavi's new contract – multiple reports

Barcelona have agreed Xavi's new contract, report multiple outlets, including Diario Sport.

The only thing left is to wait for Deco's agreement (he's not expected to say no, but what a story this would be!). Barca's sporting director is out at the moment.

Xavi is expected to sign a new deal that would run until 2026.

No one at the club doubts Xavi and his coaching staff, it is said. The board appreciates that the team is now completely different to what it was under Ronald Koeman.

At the same time, it is crucial that Barca are competitive in the Champions League this season. Another setback in Europe is unacceptable.

Xavi arrived at Barcelona in October 2021. Barca have won La Liga and the Spanish Supercopa since then.
