Barcelona consider bringing Vitor Roque to club earlier than expected (reliability: 5 stars)

Barcelona consider adding Vitor Roque to their squad already in August, reports Javier Miguel.

This has to do with Ousmane Dembele's reported decision to join Paris Saint-Germain. His departure will free up much space in the club's wage budget, so the Brazilian's registration this summer could be possible.

Barca will have to agree on Vitor Roque's early move with his current club, Athletico Paranaense. It was initially planned that the striker would help his team in the Copa Libertadores which ends in November.

The negotiations could go much easier if Athletico suffer early elimination from the Copa Libertadores. In early August, they will take on Bolivian side Bolivar in the last 16, Bolivar being the favourites, according to bookies.

Barcelona signed Vitor Roque for €30m plus add-ons this summer. The 18-year-old was expected to join the Blaugrana squad in January 2024.

The Brazilian has scored 16 goals and provided 7 assists in 34 appearances for Athletico Paranaense this season.
