Talking to Relevo, former Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman was asked whether he thought the Catalans were unfair, referencing his sacking in 2022.
"I don't know, firing a coach is part of football. The technical area and some officials told me that I did a lot for the club. Even the young people have thanked me for giving them their debut," the Dutchman said.
"If a president says he doubts his coach, that is a problem. Now that was unfair! But it's in the past, I want to turn the page. It has been hard, but you learn from these experiences."
Koeman is probably talking about the end of the 2020/21 season when Laporta started questioning the coach's future at the club.
Despite the below-standard season (only winning the Copa del Rey), the Dutchman was given a second chance. He failed to take advantage of it and was fired in October 2021.
Koeman is omitting the fact that once his future was confirmed, Laporta offered all his support to the coach. However, the results were not coming so it was only natural that the trust vanished.
