Braithwaite joined Espanyol as a free agent after Barca terminated his contract.

 addressed the negative comments he's received after joining 

"I’m not a person who cares about what people say to me. I see that I have things to do at Espanyol. I don’t care what people say. It’s a more important sporting project, I like it. It’s not the time to talk about what happened in the last few months," Braithwaite said.

"I am very happy to be here. When I started talking to Espanyol, I saw that it was a good opportunity. 

"I could continue living in Barcelona and I thought the club’s project was good. It has values. I like the way the coach wants to play and it was a very easy decision."

Braithwaite joined Espanyol after a season and a half at Camp Nou. What's more, the 31-year-old did not make his departure easy.

Barca reportedly had offers on the striker, but Martin wanted to leave on his conditions - with compensation from the club and as a free agent.

It is unclear on what terms Braithwaite would join Espanyol. As per the same report,
