"Chelsea can only blame themselves, they created really, really good chances," ex-England captain Alan Shearer said after the Blues' 1-0 defeat to Man City in the FA Cup semi-final.
"It's not unlucky, it's just lacking quality. It is very similar to their [Carabao] Cup final defeat here.
"A poor day at the office for Nicolas Jackson. Mauricio Pochettino feels Chelsea should be about fourth on expected goals and this is exactly what he's on about.
"Jackson never looked comfortable. They are absolute sitters, they really are. Three great chances for him."
Jackson will surely be under scrutiny after missing several big chances against City that could've given Chelsea a lead.
Now, the only chance for the Blues to rescue a season — and for Jackson to somewhat redeem himself — is moving up the Premier League table to at least qualify for European competitions.
