PSG close to agreement over Victor Osimhen transfer, ready to pay release clause (reliability: 4 stars)

Chelsea are set to miss out on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

According to Italian media outlet Il Mattino, PSG are in advanced talks with Napoli and eager to wrap up the deal quickly.

The Ligue 1 giants are prepared to trigger the €120m release clause and offer Osimhen a four-year contract worth €13m per season.

Osimhen was rumoured to be one of Chelsea's preferred options to bolster their attacking line. However, financial constraints, as well as their desire to slim down the wage bill, meant that the Nigerian striker was not the most likely to transfer to Stamford Bridge.

So, Chelsea will have to turn to alternative options, but they are not expected to sign anybody before June 30 to avoid issues with Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.
