Revealed: how much money Chelsea aim to collect from player sales in summer window

Chelsea are hopeful that they can keep a hold of Conor Gallagher beyond the summer transfer window by selling some other unwanted players instead, as per CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs.

The Blues’ hierarchy are planning for multiple departures in the summer window and getting rid of players who are not in their long-term plans.

Chelsea feel like they could get around £35m from the sale of Ian Maatsen, who has been impressing in his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

With the obligatory purchase option in Lewis Hall’s deal at Newcastle United likely to be activated too, the Blues should get £30m from that sale too.

Chelsea are also hopeful that the sale of Romelu Lukaku can also fetch them £35m after he returns from AS Roma. Meanwhile, Armando Broja could also be sold in the summer for a similar figure to Fulham.

As a result, Chelsea are looking to inherit at least around £70m-£100m from the sales of these players – something that can make it possible to keep Gallagher beyond the summer and these funds can also be added to boost the summer transfer budget.
