Analyst writes off Kai Havertz, names player of rival club as ideal Xhaka successor

Kai Havertz won't fit into Granit Xhaka's role at Arsenal, according to an analyst on Twitter.

The Gunners signed Havertz from Chelsea to fill in the left midfield role. However, Premier League Panel believes Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes is best suited to the role.

"Best fit for Arsenal’s LCM slot is funnily enough Newcastle’s current 6 and a man they had a chance to sign from Lyon: Bruno Guimaraes," the analyst wrote.

"He’s able to create/control from behind the ball, he can defend in a pivot and can even get G/A in the box as he shows for Brazil. Rare profile.

"It’s still solid if Partey stays as the 6. Creativity won’t be there with Rice LCM but ball carrying can still cause chaos and he can maybe develop the G/A element."

Havertz is gradually settling into his new role, scoring twice so far in pre-season. Mikel Arteta has backed him to succeed in the role.
