'There's something really wonderful ahead for this squad': Guendouzi aims for Euro success with France U21s team

France's youth side are in for a bright future following their Euro-2021 qualification: Matteo Guendouzi sees no reason not to aim for the win next summer.

"We showed that we are really well armed to do something good at the Euros. We wanted to show that we have improved during these qualification matches, we have a wonderful squad… The aim, is quite simply, to win the Euros," he told Ouest France.

"I am convinced that there is something really wonderful ahead here for this squad. For the majority of the players, we’ve played together for several years and know each other perfectly."

French national side really does have a number of talented players on their books, with a former Gunner, Jeff Reine-Adelaide captaining the side and Guendouzi himself being vice-captain.

The likes of Houssem Aouar and Odsonne Edouard have recently been called up too, although we could find no record of William Saliba linking up with his fellow countrymen - despite his former Saint-Etienne teammate Wesley Fofana doing so. Looks like William really needs some time off.
